So for lunch today I took a mating prospect for some good pizza. I paid for everything including her two $3.50 (EACH) cream sodas. We ordered a large "Hawaiian" pizza with an a bacon extra, was great. It wasn't bad for an independent Pizza place, but it's definitely not as good as the big chains. So here's my list of the best Pizza places, ranked in a list.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Here we go.
5- !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . There's a lot of Italians in Boston and they clearly know how to make great Pizza.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
4- !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Best sausage in town, I always take an extra and call it the sausage fest.
3- !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . They invented the stuffed crust so props for that

2- !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , their wings are out of this world
1- !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . They are first because they think outside the box. They don't simply make a pizza like anybody else. They are also geographically aware. They always have a local variety.

What? This list is bullshit.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:16 |

Don't think Papa John's pizza is fantastic but they did give me a free 1 topping pie for owning a Camaro so they are definitely the most Jalop of the bunch.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:17 |

No love for Sbarro? If you get one fresh that hasn't been drying out under heat lamps all day, it comes within maybe 75% of a mom and pop pizza, which is a bit closer than other chains.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:17 |

There's a pizza place down the street from me, that uses loads of cheese, SO MUCH CHEESE. I like it more than Pizza Pizza.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:19 |

Papa Johns is turrible.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:21 |
|
You mean, turribly good
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:21 |
|
What the hell is this list?!
I'm not eating ANY of this pizza unless it's late night and I'm too drunk to be in public.
-New Yorker.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:22 |
|
That's rude.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:22 |

is this a boston pizza list?
hard to tell because everything other than boston pizza i know to be national chains.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:22 |

I don't know that place, are they in Canada ?
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:22 |

What the hell kind of cream soda costs $3.50 each? Do you get a happy ending with that?
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:22 |

It's hard to find bad pizza.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:22 |

What's the name, where ?

Female privilege is getting free lunch and cream sodas just by showing interest in a guy.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:23 |

It's true man. Saying Papa Johns makes the best pizza is like saying McDonalds makes the best burger.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:24 |
|
True that
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:24 |

They are, but not that saturated. I think there's only 1 in Toronto, for example.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:25 |

This may be the first time I've ever, ever heard someone say "big chain" pizza is better than local shops.
I'd take a frozen Tombstone over Pizza Hut, Little Sleazers or Papa Johns.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:26 |
|
Well, as far as burgers goes, the BigMac is a classic, maybe not the ultimate best, but certainly in the top 1%
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:26 |

Willy's Pizza in Ottawa.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:27 |

Now I just think you're fucking with me.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:27 |

Papa John's? Really? Gross. You can't get a good pizza outside of certain neighborhoods in New York, and even then, you need to know what to look for.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:28 |
|
I mean Charles Barkley turrible.

Added to my electronic rolodex, thanks !
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:29 |

Seriously, I think there needs to be an age/taste disclaimer here. As in, too young to have ever had a truly good pizza.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:30 |
|
If you drop by for a visit, I'd certainly order one.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:30 |

Pizza is like sex. Even when it's bad, it's still pretty good.

I'm in NB that's why

I had a lady buy me dinner once. It was nice.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:31 |
|
So, are you ranking the stores for their market presence or their pizza? Looking at the list, I would have to say that it can't be based on taste.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:31 |

Maybe he just really likes the garlic butter.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:31 |
|
lol, at this point, I think we can conclude that these opinions may include a margin of error, but not many others.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:32 |

Boston Pizza? I didnt think that was even a thing, even in Boston. All you got for decent pie is Santarpios and they are a pack of assholes
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:33 |
|
New-Brunswick, Canada.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:33 |
|
Did you thank your mom for taking you out?
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:34 |
|
I mean, the toppings aren't bad, but the crust just lets the whole pie down. And after that, it's just like trying to build a sand castle in a stream. All the garlic butter in the world won't save it.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:35 |

Try a Pizza with chicken and baby corn.
Or just don't.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:35 |
|
Are you serious? because if you, oh man am I sorry for you. The pizza place by me has the best damn donair pizza you will ever have. It will literally change your life. Boston pizza is okay, but it wouldn't rank in a top ten/five/whatever list. The others are terrible.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:35 |
|
I'll stick to proper italian style Pizza, thanks.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:36 |
|
Yeah I wouldn't call it bad pizza per say but it would only be in my top 5 if I had only gone to 4 other pizza places.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:37 |
|
Oh snap!
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:37 |
|
Yeah, I don't think they have anything there. You're not missing much though.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:38 |

Boston Pizza is a national chain from Richmond British Columbia.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:38 |

![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:41 |
|
Dude what is going on
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:41 |
|
I still can't take you seriously for making a best pizza list and including chain restaurants, much less saying a big mac is in the top 1% of good burgers.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:41 |
|
Juuuuuuuuuust about as drunk as I need to be to enjoy Papa John's.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:41 |
|
Why would they do this ?
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:42 |
|
They must not have good local pizza in Canada. Everywhere I go here in Illinois local places are better. I'm even in the sticks in Central IL! Had a few Chicago pizzas that were pretty good, but I'm more of a thin crust fan.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:42 |
|
It just is. I have been to the "original" Boston Pizza.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:42 |
|
Haha, that was a good day.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:43 |
|
There's really no amount of drunk that will do it for me. I find papa johns basically repulsive
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:43 |
|
It is in the top 1% of most recognizable burgers though.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:44 |
|
Utter CHAOS!!!
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:45 |
|
We definitely have better pizza than this list, local mom and pop shops are the best.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:45 |
|
Yea, verily
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:46 |
|
Just reading this list made me go check to see how much TP was in the bathroom, and make sure it's the good soft kind that you need when crapping your brains out.
The only explanation to your rankings is that you were raised on a strict diet of chicken nuggets and those fluffy marshmallow-ish circus peanuts.
Find a good local shop that does their own thing, with fresh home-made sauce / dough / toppings, and you will experience Pizza Zen. Otherwise all of the chains are just preservatives and artificial flavorings. Blah.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:47 |

I'm glad to hear that. Been to the Toronto area a couple of time for my old job. Seems like a pretty cool place. This time of year, I wish we had Timmy's!
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:47 |

I will eat pretty much anywhere else other than mcdonalds, and if I do go, it won't involve big macs.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:50 |

step 1: visit NYC
step 2: eat pizza
step 3: change your list.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:50 |

that explains it... i lived in boston for 6 years, and never saw or heard of one.
there was a "new york pizza" down the street for me. and i think they actually did have some really good pizza.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:52 |

When I'll finally buy a Crown Vic, I'll do it.

Mcdonalds is delicious and the mcdouble is the most bountiful food known to man. SCIENCE!
![]() 01/15/2015 at 15:53 |

Yup. Boston Pizza is from just about as far away from Boston as you can get on this landmass.

you have to be fucking with him

Boston does not have great Pizza. There's Regina's with a few locations and Ernesto's in the North end, that's it. I don't know why they came up with that name. Chicago has deep dish pizza, and I guess it's Uno's thing.
Where are you from in Canada? I grew up in Montreal and the Indy shops always had the best pies. Something about the sauce, and the slightly sweet dough. Not as oily as most american chains. I miss it and always eat a metric ton of it (with poutine) when I go back.
![]() 01/15/2015 at 16:16 |

It wasn't bad for an independent Pizza place, but it's definitely not as good as the big chains.
This sentence just 'sploded my foodie hipster brains all over the room. Chain pizza is awful. Too salty, too blergh, awful, awful, awful.
I'm in by no means a pizza town, but even the meh indies here are so much less flergh-inducing than the chains. Then again, the worst Italian I've ever had was in BC, so I feel for ya. The struggle is real.
Here, if I'm gonna go full death-by-pizza, Via 313 (Detroit-style trailer) is the tits. I can usually only make it through half because there's so much butter, but...butter. Mmmm. Butter. I think they cook it in butter and add more butter on top. This will be the end of me far before "hold my Puffalump and watch this." Little Deli is pretty good for normal thin-crust pizza. Then there's Rosati's (Waco) or Star Pizza (Houston) if I want Chicago-style—actual Chicago style, not some BS giant breadwad thing.

I've never heard of Boston Pizza.
— Ryan who lives 8 miles from Boston and works in Boston.
P.S. Ernesto's in the North End and, of course, Regina's are the best places for pizza in Boston.

Fiori di zucca (zucchini flowers with anchovies) pizza, Roma, Italia FTW!

See, for any other type of food, you'd be right.
But with pizza, chains are actually better.
